A personal musical tribute to the legendary musical icon Nina Simone by Pharaoh's Dream, with featured vocalist David Nathan who formed the very first UK appreciation society/fan club for Nina in London in 1965.
Selections on this EP included the now-classic "Feeling Good" (originally recorded by Nina on her 1965 LP "I Put A Spell On You"); "Wild Is The Wind," the movie theme, also the title of a 1966 LP by Nina; "To Love Somebody," Nina's revival of the 1967 pop hit by The Bee Gees which became a UK hit for Nina herself in 1969; the gospel classic "Nobody's Fault But Mine," one of the tracks on Nina's acclaimed 1969 LP, "Nina Simone And Piano"; a rendition of the Billie Holiday song, "You Don't Know What Love Is" that Nina first recorded in her early years; and an acapella rendition of the Oscar Brown, Jr. song, "Rags & Old Iron," found on Nina's 1962 LP "Forbidden Fruit."
David's re-interpretations of the songs bring a new dimension to this respectful tribute...
